The silver maple wood came from a tree that used to be up the street from my shop. I have a few pieces that I have made small bowls from. This chunk of wood was taller than the rest..which isn’t saying much when the whole bowl is less than 2 inches tall.
I would say this bowl would be a good place to keep your car keys in a consistent location. The branch inclusion at the bottom of bowl gives this a nice bit of uniqueness that I couldn’t duplicate if I wanted.
The bowl is 5.25 inches wide and 1.875 inches tall.
The bowl is finished with a multi-layer process of tung oil, shellac, lacquer, and enamel.
This would be shipped insured and very protected. (duh...like I’d want it to arrive at your side broken…that’d make me very sad because I have a lot of work in this piece and want you to enjoy the final piece as much as I enjoyed making it.)
