Medium sized Purpleheart bowl

$95.00

A while back, one of my local suppliers had a boatload of purpleheart on sale. I picked up a number of blanks because I know I can make a number of things from various sizes of this wood. This bowl is an example of what all I have made from that collection. (Trust me, there’s a lot more to come from that haul. I just have to find my 5 gallon bucket of spare time to get things done in a timely fashion.)

This bowl is naturally purple. It is incredibly dense (like the guy making this stuff). It is very glossy (because I finished it that way). It probably is the right size for a number of activities, but I won’t know what that looks like. It is not dishwasher safe (none of the wooden items I make are intended to go into the machine). It does have a food safe finish on it. Other than trying my patience on becoming a final bowl (purpleheart, although neat to have in ones’ hands, is finicky and dulls the tools extremely quickly).

The bowl is 7.5 inches wide and 2.75 inches tall. (Think breakfast cereal bowl sized)

The bowl is finished with a multi-layer process of tung oil, shellac, lacquer, and enamel.

This would be shipped insured and very protected. (duh...like I’d want it to arrive at your side broken…that’d make me very sad because I have a lot of work in this piece and want you to enjoy the final piece as much as I enjoyed making it.)
