This is a 16 ounce cocktail stainless steel inside, wood outside, cocktail shaker.
The wood exterior is from pieces of a red oak board that I had left over from another project. I can’t just get rid of wood when there’s so much out there that’s boring and the same. I want to use what I have and make a thing that can’t be duplicated (even if I wanted to I couldn’t). So here’s to glue, clamps, patience, and all sorts of funky grain patterns on this cocktail shaker.
While mixing cocktails with this shaker, your hand should not get icy cold like the beverage you want to consume. Wood is heat resistant so only the top and cap will get cold.
The interior is a 16 oz stainless steel liner. The lines on the cap are supposed to be for measuring (I’ve never used that. yet). The slip fit top has a build in strainer. It is nearly 10 inches tall, and it is about 4 inches in diameter.
I finished this with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel. Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher (or in a 3 dip tank).
