Ice Cream Scoop with Gemwood SpectraPly Wood Handle
Ice cream scoop with hand-turned SpectraPly wood handle. The handle is approximately 6 inches long. The whole scoop is about 9 inches from base to tip. It’s finished with tung oil and a topcoat of durable enamel.
The stainless steel scoop unscrews from the handle for easy cleaning. The handle must be washed by hand. A trip through the dishwasher would ruin the wood.
This is a plywood that I’ve found that is incredibly colorful and called “Gemwood.” The purple, blue, and orange, layers are shown off on this scoop with a wavy pattern. It’s supposed to be roughly the size of your fingers so you can give that hard ice cream a thorough scooping.
