Ice Cream Scoop with Bradford Pear Wood Handle

$30.99

Ice cream scoop with hand-turned Bradford Pear wood handle. The handle is approximately 6 inches long. The whole scoop is about 9 inches from base to tip. It’s finished with tung oil and a topcoat of durable enamel.

The stainless steel scoop unscrews from the handle for easy cleaning. The handle must be washed by hand. A trip through the dishwasher would ruin the wood.

We have boatloads of Bradford Pear trees in our neighborhood. They area considered a nuisance tree by the IN Dept of Natural Resources. They also like to have massive limbs fall down simply because the tree is bored and wants attention. When I get my hands on this wood, I try to make the tree useful. Normally I don’t see what the wood has going on. This piece, on the other hand, told me a lot. It has rippling flame wood and several interesting curves and colorations in it. It must have been near where two branches intersected and “things” happened. Hopefully you find this as interesting as I do…I do know it’ll make a nice ice cream scoop for your kitchen.
