Ice Cream Scoop with Cedar Wood Handle
Ice cream scoop with hand-turned Cedar wood handle. The handle is approximately 6 inches long. The whole scoop is about 9 inches from base to tip. It’s finished with tung oil and a topcoat of durable enamel.
The stainless steel scoop unscrews from the handle for easy cleaning. The handle must be washed by hand. A trip through the dishwasher would ruin the wood.
This handle comes from some cedar wood that landed in my shop. Honestly, I have no clue where or when this wood came to me. However, a nice simple (and light) scoop it did make. The handle design should give your index finger a place to grip while the rest of your hand pulls against the frozen goodness of the ice cream that’s in the container.
