Ice cream scoop with hand-turned SpectraPly wood handle. The handle is approximately 6 inches long. The whole scoop is about 9 inches from base to tip. It’s finished with tung oil and a topcoat of durable enamel.
The stainless steel scoop unscrews from the handle for easy cleaning. The handle must be washed by hand. A trip through the dishwasher would ruin the wood.
This is a plywood that I’ve found that is incredibly colorful and comes in multiply color combinations. This Blue, purple, orange, and turquoise, is called Gemwood. The lobed pattern I gave this piece allows me to show off the colors and make nifty finger grips for those times where the ice cream is especially hard and needs that little bit extra umph.
