This kaleidoscope is turned from a very neat piece of wood that captures the light and plays with it. I honestly don’t know what species of wood this is because it was part of a pack of wood that I purchased from a woodworker who was downsizing his shop. I gave this piece a bean shape to highlight all the elements that are going on with the grain and colors and light. I think it’s kind of a fun looking piece. The gems on the inside also make this fun to look at as a kaleidoscope too.
It is approximately 2 5/8 inches tall. The wood is finished with tung oil and an enamel topcoat. The hardware is chromed for durability.
