Hickory wood, 16 Ounce Capacity
This beverage container holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. It will keep hot things hot for a good long while (just like a Stanley...but with personality). This won’t be like anyone else’s coffee mug — feel unique and be able to find your mug when you need it.
From a log that I rescued from a hickory tree that had died many years ago at our neighborhood park comes this beverage container. It has a bit of all the important parts of the tree included, bark, sap wood, and wonderfully figured heart wood. The creamy white wood is the sap wood, the splotch in the middle of that is the bark inclusion I was able to save, and the dramatic figured heartwood is totally findable on its own.
Not only is hickory great for smoking woods, but it’s useful in a lot of other manners too…if you own a hammer with a wooden handle, there’s a high degree of probability that that handle is hickory. It’s incredibly durable as woods go. This mug is no exception (I wouldn’t use it to hammer though…that might just break things.) The traveler does have some heft to it and will keep a hot beverage at temp for a long while (I’ve made one for myself…and I’m talking from experience).
I've tried to turn this container to be able to fit into a 3 inch cup holder in a car. I once had a car that had REALLY small cup holders and I had to hold my coffee cup as I drove because I couldn’t fit it into the holders…that annoyed me. I try to avoid that for you.
The interior has a16 oz stainless steel liner. The lid slips/pushes on securely. It’s nearly 8 inches tall, 4 inches wide. The base should be just under 3 inches to fit most cars cup-holders.
Finished with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel.
Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher—that’s REALLY bad for these.
Ships via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate.
