Cabinet grade plywood Tumbler (#2), 16 Ounce Capacity
This beverage container holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. It will keep hot things hot for a good long while (just like a Stanley...but with personality). This won’t be like anyone else’s coffee mug — feel unique and be able to find your mug when you need it.
As can be seen on other items here, I don’t let useful scraps go to waste. This traveler is made from scraps of a new shop fixture cabinet that I built. I actually used higher quality plywood on that piece (for strength where its’s deployed), and that gives this coffee mug a bit more character (I think). I turned it on the long grain, which allowed for interesting shapes to form on each main side. When I applied the first oil coat of the finish, I saw that we get a decent chatoyance with various strata in the grain (which I didn’t expect either). This traveler definitely has some substance about it. It fills your hand and makes you feel like you might be able to build anything.
I've tried to turn this container to be able to fit into a 3 inch cup holder in a car. I once had a car that had REALLY small cup holders and I had to hold my coffee cup as I drove because I couldn’t fit it into the holders…that annoyed me. I try to avoid that for you.
The interior has a16 oz stainless steel liner. The lid slips/pushes on securely. It’s nearly 8 inches tall, 4 inches wide. The base should be just under 3 inches to fit most cars cup-holders.
Finished with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel.
Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher—that’s REALLY bad for these.
Ships via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate.
