Hickory Wood Tumbler with handle, 16 Ounce Capacity
This beverage container holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. It will keep hot things hot for a good long while (just like a Stanley...but with personality). This won’t be like anyone else’s coffee mug — feel unique and be able to find your mug when you need it.
This mug has an outter lining of hickory. I think I pulled this piece from a tree that was felled in a local park. Honestly this wood goes back to the earliest days of my turning, it sat under my lathe for over 10 years before I needed the space and made this. There is a lot going on in the grain — and then I gave the whole beverage traveler a wavy texture to really get this to the next level.
Hickory is an incredibly hard wood and wears fantastically. There’s a reason that hammers and hard-use tools are made from this stuff. I doubt you’ll be using it to hammer anything (other than gallons of coffee), but know that it’s going to take what you give it and look after you for years to come.
I've tried to turn this container to be able to fit into a 3 inch cup holder in a car. I once had a car that had REALLY small cup holders and I had to hold my coffee cup as I drove because I couldn’t fit it into the holders…that annoyed me. I try to avoid that for you.
The interior has a 16 oz plastic liner that has a handle for carrying. The lid screws on securely. It’s nearly 9 inches tall, 4 inches wide (before the handle). The base should be just under 3 inches to fit most cars cup-holders.
Finished with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel.
Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher—that’s REALLY bad for these.
Ships via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate.
