Cherry Wood Tumbler with handle, 16 Ounce Capacity
This beverage container holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. It will keep hot things hot for a good long while (just like a Stanley...but with personality). This won’t be like anyone else’s coffee mug — feel unique and be able to find your mug when you need it.
This handled mug comes from a piece of cherry that I got from a bike mechanic friend of mine. The tree that this came from wanted to snuggle with his house after a wind storm. That is to say that it gently leaned against his house without damaging anything. I’ve made some interesting things from the wood from this tree, including this handled mug. There’s a bit of sap wood left with the rest being heart wood (what we think of when we think of “cherry”). Because the grain on this piece wasn’t overly dramatic, I decided to give the mug a set of curves that help make this stand out.
I've tried to turn this container to be able to fit into a 3 inch cup holder in a car. I once had a car that had REALLY small cup holders and I had to hold my coffee cup as I drove because I couldn’t fit it into the holders…that annoyed me. I try to avoid that for you.
The interior has a 16 oz plastic liner that has a handle for carrying. The lid screws on securely. It’s nearly 9 inches tall, 4 inches wide (before the handle). The base should be just under 3 inches to fit most cars cup-holders.
Finished with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel.
Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher—that’s REALLY bad for these.
Ships via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate.
