Cedar Wood Tumbler with handle, 16 Ounce Capacity
This beverage container holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. It will keep hot things hot for a good long while (just like a Stanley...but with personality). This won’t be like anyone else’s coffee mug — feel unique and be able to find your mug when you need it.
This mug has a cedar wood exterior. A friend of mine was rebuilding a porch and had a couple of chunks of 8×8 cedar that was just scrap. They were too small for things that he might need them for, but just the right size for me to make a few things out of. This mug is one of those things. Because modern cedar is forced to grow super fast, the growth rings are really spread out. This gives a lot of character with the fully enclosed branches (the dots you’ll see around the piece). What’s kind of cool (to me), when I sanded this everything was perfectly smooth. After the wood gets oiled and the tung oil cures, the early wood (not the growth ring—or late wood) slightly shrinks back giving a texture that I could never plan for. This fast growing cedar is very light for its size, this mug will feel lighter than you’d think.
I've tried to turn this container to be able to fit into a 3 inch cup holder in a car. I once had a car that had REALLY small cup holders and I had to hold my coffee cup as I drove because I couldn’t fit it into the holders…that annoyed me. I try to avoid that for you.
The interior has a 16 oz plastic liner that has a handle for carrying. The lid screws on securely. It’s nearly 9 inches tall, 4 inches wide (before the handle). The base should be just under 3 inches to fit most cars cup-holders.
Finished with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel.
Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher—that’s REALLY bad for these.
Ships via USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate.
