This beverage container holds 16 ounces of your favorite beverage. It will keep hot things hot for a good long while (just like a Stanley...but with personality). This won’t be like anyone else’s coffee mug — feel unique and be able to find your mug when you need it.
This handled mug comes from a piece of black walnut that I picked up years ago and lost track of. (Yeah, that can happen with turners...we get a log, then a log and another…and then years later we find them and are excited about that.) I’ve managed to keep a bit of the bark attached, so you get bark, sap wood (a lighter color), and that deep dark rich walnut color. I think being able to say this shows all the best of the tree is really special and unique.
I've tried to turn this container to be able to fit into a 3 inch cup holder in a car. I once had a car that had REALLY small cup holders and I had to hold my coffee cup as I drove because I couldn’t fit it into the holders…that annoyed me. I try to avoid that for you.
The interior has a 16 oz plastic liner that has a handle for carrying. The lid screws on securely. It’s nearly 9 inches tall, 4 inches wide (before the handle). The base should be just under 3 inches to fit most cars cup-holders.
Finished with tung oil, lacquer, and enamel.
Wash by hand, not in the dishwasher—that’s REALLY bad for these.
